Hilal-e-Ahmar, Tanzeem ul Madaris join hands against polio

ISLAMABAD: Anjuman-e-Hilal-e-Ahmar and Ittehad Tanzeem-ul-Madaris on Saturday reached an agreement under which the clerics will donate blood and help spread public awareness about polio. According to details, Anjuman-e-Hilal-e-Ahmar and Ittehad Tanzeem-ul-Madaris have signed 'Misaq-e-Insaniyat' at a ceremony held here. Chairman Anjuman-e-Hilal-e-Ahmar, Saeed Illahi told the newsmen that his organization has 1.7 million volunteers. Renown religious scholar, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said, ‘serving humanity has been declared supreme in Islam’, adding first-aid centres would be set up in religious seminaries. He said the students of seminaries would be registered as blood donors/ volunteers and offer their services to deal with any emergency situation.
