PTI constitutes parliamentary board to select candidates for Senate polls

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has constituted four-member parliamentary board under vice chairman of party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi to select candidates for Senate election on Saturday. Other members of the PTI parliamentary board included two provincial ministers, Shah Farman, Atif Khan and woman leader of the party, Naseem Inayat. The PTI has so far received 40 applications from aspirants for the Senate polls. The PTI parliamentary board fixed February 09 for submission of applications. The parliamentary board will scrutinise the applications on February 10 and 11 after which they will place their recommendations before PTI Chairman Imran who will finalise the candidates who will submit nomination papers for contesting Senate election on February 12 and 13. Sources said that if the Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf MPA did not make any secret dealing then the party along with its ally Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) could succeed in getting 7 to 8 Senate seats. It should be mentioned that 11 PTI members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly have already constituted like-minded group after core committee of the party decided that all Senate tickets would be awarded to candidates belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa only.
