Inappropriate to dismiss JIT findings: Memon
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said on Monday it was inappropriate to dismiss findings of the joint investigation team (JIT). “The JIT consists of representatives of several institutions such as Rangers, Police, Military Inteligence, ISI, and IB who carry out the investigation. To say the findings are wrong or to dismiss them is inappropriate.” Memon told reporters outside the Sindh Assembly that the JIT reports on Baldia Town and May 12 have been submitted in court which would now make decisions pertaining to the cases. The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has been critical of the JIT reports of the Baldia Town factory fire and the May 12 carnage. The Baldia Town report was rejected by MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday and later party leaders at a news conference termed it ‘fictitious’ and ‘biased’.
