NewsImran Khan summons party meeting over Senate polls
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of party’s parliamentary committee to devise a strategy in connection with the forthcoming Senate elections. According to details, the meeting is scheduled to be held in Chief Minister (CM) House, Peshawar today. The members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) assembly will be taken into confidence on the elections of the upper house of the Parliament due to be held on March 3. The meeting will also try to woo back support of the dissident members of the party, sources said. An MPA of PTI like-minded group, Mehmood Jan, told the Geo News that he would lay bare the facts before Imran Khan. He said the like-minded group was being given a cold shoulder in the appointments and also being ignored in connection with the running of government affairs. Javed Naseem, another dissident member of PTI, said why should he even bother to attend the meeting when he had already been expelled from the party. Naseem said he will be guided by his conscience for casting the Senate vote besides what he deems is in the greater interest of his constituency.
