Mamnoon represents Pakistan at Chinese New Year’s function

ISLAMABAD – President Mamnoon Hussain here on Tuesday represented Pakistan’s at formal launching of Chinese New Year, 2015 and conveyed good wishes to the government and the people of Chinese on this auspicious occasion. He exchanged pleasantries with Chinese envoy Sun Weidong on the occasion. The function was marked with art and culture performance by the Chinese artists. It was most impressive show which received profound appreciation from the audience. Most fascinating performance (a traditional dance) was from the lady staff of the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad. Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baluch, leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, Syed Mushahid Hussain and a number of senior civil and military officers, besides diplomats were present on the occasion. Chinese envoy reiterated the strong desire of the Chinese leaders and the government to further strengthen their all-round partnership with Pakistan. “We are the iron friends, having unique friendship that is a source of peace, stability and prosperity in the region.” He said China’s President Xi Jinping will soon visit Pakistan that will bring their time-tested and all-weather friendship to a new height. He said both the countries have common destiny and they bound to work together for the bright future of their people. Ambassador Sun emphasised that the Chinese government attaches great importance to their strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, always regards the Pak-China relations as the priority of its foreign policy and will continue to promote friendship and substantive cooperation with Pakistan. China would like to maintain close coordination and collaboration with Pakistan to create a safe and sound environment for their bilateral relations and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He further said that he and many other Chinese families preferred to spend their new year’s holidays in Pakistan, since they consider Pakistan as their second home. “We feel here at home,” he remarked. He presented the President Mamnoon Hussain his portrait that was skillfully drawn by Chinese artists. The president thanked for his gesture of goodwill.
