Transfer benefit of falling oil prices to consumers: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has taken notice of the high price of essential commodities including milk and pulses and has instructed provincial secretaries to ensure the benefit of falling oil prices be transferred to the consumers. Presiding over the price monitoring committee meeting in Islamabad, Dar instructed provincial secretaries to initiate a crackdown against profiteers and to improve the price monitoring mechanism. Taking notice of the rising price of milk, pulses and other essential commodities Ishaq Dar expressed his displeasure and stressed that the benefit of falling oil prices must be transferred to the end consumers. The Finance minister has also instructed the Ministry of National Food Security to prepare an action plan to address the issue.
