US Senator calls on Sartaj Adviser briefs Jack about improvement in Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD – US Senator Jack Reed ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee called on Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday and discussed Pak-US bilateral relations and security situation in the region. He was accompanied by US Ambassador Richard Olson and senior staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The Adviser highlighted Pakistan's comprehensive and robust measures to counter terrorism and extremism and briefed the Senator about the improvement in Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan. Senator Reed expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the efforts to root out terrorism and extremism and the success achieved so far. Senator Reed belongs to the Democratic Party and represents the state of Rhode Island. He has been to Pakistan on a number of occasions.
