Balochistan to be developed at par with rest of country: PM

QUETTA - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the government was taking necessary steps to bring Balochistan at par with other parts of the country in terms of development and prosperity. The prime minister expressed these views in separate meetings with Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Jan Jamali, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader and former senator Lashkari Raisani and Balochistan Minister for Excise, Taxation, Revenue and Transport Shaikh Jafar Khan Mandokhel here at the Governor House. The matters relating to Balochistan as well as overall political situation came under discussion. The prime minister said that the government was committed to uprooting the menace of terrorism from Pakistan and was taking all out steps in this regard. He expressed satisfaction that the National Action Plan to counter terrorism and extremism, which was being implemented in all parts of the country, had the backing of entire political spectrum of the country. Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq was also present during the meetings.
