APP

ISLAMABAD - Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) would bring prosperity to Pakistan by connecting all its areas. Talking to a private news channel, the minister said that Gwadar would be linked with all the important highways of the country to ensure equal progress and prosperity. He said that when the corridor would be constructed, it would serve as a primary gateway for trade between Pakistan, China and the Middle East and Africa. He said that the CPEC would also help resolve chronic energy crises in Pakistan. He said that the Central Asian states and regional countries would be able to get facilities from Gwadar port after its completion. Elaborating, the minister said that with the development of corridor, Central Asia, traditionally an economically closed region owing to its geography and lack of infrastructure, would have greater access to the sea and to the global trade network.
