‘Efforts in place to recover abducted Gilani, Taseer from Afghanistan’

LAHORE: Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada on Friday said that efforts are in place to bring home abducted sons of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and slain Punjab governor Salman Taseer from Afghanistan. Speaking on the floor of Punjab Assembly, he said the provincial government was in contact with authorities in Afghanistan to bring back Ali Haider Gilani and Shahbaz Taseer. Ali Haider was kidnapped during election campaign before the 2013 polls from his native Multan city while Shahbaz was abducted by unknown armed men from Lahore in May 2011. Answering queries of the MPAs during question hour, Khanzada said that 3,000 CCTV cameras were being installed across the province with a target of 15,000 cameras overall. The home minister also told the assembly that 95 per cent of terrorists were entering Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
