Non-bailable arrest warrant issued for Baldia Town investigating officer
KARACHI: A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued on Saturday for Investigating Officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Jehanzeb by Additional District and Sessions Judge Karachi West, Naushaba Kazi during a hearing of the Baldia Town tragedy case. The court questioned why the IO was not present and also issued an order to freeze his salary. On February 16, the main public prosecutor in the case, Shazia Hanjra, announced that she was withdrawing from the trial. Hanjra maintained that she did not have the support of the investigating officer and could not continue the case any further. She added that investigating authorities had not been cooperating with her and that the IO had still not given her a copy of investigation documents.
