ANP rejects changes in Pak-China Economic Corridor Project

APP

PESHAWAR – Awami National Party (ANP) Central General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday rejected the decision of approving Pak-China Corridor project with changes and demanded executing the project on its original plan. In a statement here, he said that an APC in this regard was convened by ANP in Islamabad in which all political entities agreed that Gwadar-Kashgar project be constructed on the decided route. He informed that all participants were of the view that changes in the project would be resisted at all cost. He said interest of smaller federating units should not be sacrificed for the benefits of larger provinces. The project of Pak-China Corridor was not merely a route but includes railway line, industrial zones and other facilities. The Party would soon devise a strategy for revival of the project on its original route adding we have already contacted Chinese Ambassador in this regard.
