PM for contacts with political parties to stop horse trading

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday asked the members of the two committees, formed on 23rd February, to contact different political parties to ensure transparency in Senate elections and discourage horse trading. In a meeting here at the PM House, the prime minister asked the members of these committees to enhance contacts with political parties so that procedures necessary for stopping horse trading can be agreed upon before the upcoming Senate elections, including a Constitutional amendment, if required. The prime minister himself will also contact heads of the political parties in this regard, a statement from the PM House said. The meeting was attended by Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Minister of State for Information and Technology Anusha Rahman, Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal Khan and Special Assistants to PM Khawaja Zaheer Ahmad and Barrister Zafarullah Khan.
