All issues to be discussed with Indian Foreign Secretary: FO

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tasneem Aslam on Thursday said all outstanding issues would be discussed during the visit of Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar to Islamabad on March 3-4. Aslam added the Indian Foreign Secretary will meet his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry and a complete agenda for the talks was being formulated. During the weekly FO press briefing, Aslam also praised Pakistan’s role and efforts in the war against terror, saying that Pakistan is against all types of terrorism. She went on to say that there is speculation regarding the presence of Daish (IS) in Pakistan; however, steps are being taken to prevent any stronghold in the country. The FO spokesman further said that Pakistan has always supported peace talks with the Afghan Taliban. Aslam also said that Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister has arrived in Pakistan today to meet with the political leadership. On the issue a raid being conducted on the house of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) country manager in Dhaka, Aslam said they were aware of this and had contacted the High Commissioner of Bangladesh and awaited a reply from the Bangladesh Foreign Office. Aslam went on to say that no reason has been given to Pakistan so far regarding the raid.
