‘Unquestionable evidence proves India backed terrorism in Pakistan’
Foreign Office Spokesperson says India should correct itself rather than commenting on other countries

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan took a strong exception of Indian external affairs ministry’s statement on JuD chief Hafiz Saeed’s house arrest, saying that India should take corrective measures for itself rather than commenting on other countries’ affairs.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakariya said that there are unquestionable evidences that India is involved in perpetrating terrorism in Pakistan. He reminded the Indian state institutions also carried out terrorism on Indian soil and blamed it on others. He said that Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism have been internationally acknowledged.

Expressing concerns over the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, the spokesperson said that India is attempting to change the demography of Kashmir and the international community should take notice of this.

The spokesman said that United Nations (UN) and the world community have an obligation to make vigorous efforts to resolve the outstanding Kashmir dispute. He called upon UN and the international community to take strict notice of the human rights violations that in Kashmir. He said that the world had a responsibility to act in order to secure the rights of Kashmiris and help them attain their right of self-determination.

When asked about the Indian decision to increase defence expenditures by ten per cent, the spokesperson said that Pakistan opposes any conventional and nuclear arms race in the region. He said Pakistan is maintaining minimum deterrence for its self-defence. He described the Indian arms buying spree as a threat to region adding Pakistan does not want to indulge in any arms race.
