Power projects in final stages, energy shortage issue to be resolved: Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has praised the progress resulting in the completion of 1180-MW LNG-fuelled power plant in Bhikki.

Addressing an event organised in Bhikki, the PM lauded the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Chinese engineering team and other concerned authorities working on the project.

Nawaz Sharif said that eighty four percentof the Power Plant had been completed which would help overcome energy shortage in the country.

He said several new power projects are in final stages, which after completion would solve the energy crisis in the country.

In the past no other government bothered to work on motorways. However, the present government is now working on Lahore Karachi Motorway.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had visited different parts of the power plant and personally supervisedthe progress of the project.

In his address, the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that work is being completed swiftly at Bhikhi, Haveli Bahadur Shah and Balloki power plants.

He said that the Federal Government extended its full cooperation for the timely completion of these power projects, adding that these power plants would be exemplary for their speed and transparency.
