Chief of naval staff visits foreign ships


KARACHI: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah on Sunday visited various ships of foreign navies participating in the Multinational Naval Exercise AMAN-17.

Upon his arrival, Zakaullah was warmly welcomed by senior officers, task group commanders, and commanding officers of respective ships and was presented with a Guard of Honour by smartly turned out contingents.

The naval chief visited participating ships of Australia, China, Indonesia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and the UK where he held formal meetings with senior officers.

During the discussions with officers onboard, the Chief highlighted how the Pakistan Navy has always been a forerunner in the quest for collaborative security in this region of immense strategic importance and how the AMAN series of exercises are anchored on this concept. The Admiral further believed that the camaraderie generated through these exercises will grow in the future and shall bring us closer to our mutual goal of regional peace and prosperity. He also appreciated their role and thanked the foreign naval forces for their participation in AMAN Exercise to fulfil a common resolve of coming “together for Peace”.

The senior officers of the respective ships acknowledged the efforts of the Pakistan Navy in bringing together global naval forces towards a shared commitment of maritime peace, stability and lawful order at sea.

He had an informal interaction with the crew of visiting ships and appreciated their professionalism and morale. The Naval Chief also recorded his remarks in the guest books of visiting ships.
