Sehwan blast: Pak Navy hospitals in Karachi on high alert


RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah has placed all Naval Hospitals in Karachi on high alert to receive the Sehwan blast injured, it was learnt through the ISPR.

The ISPR chief said all the medical facilities in Karachi have been placed on high alert by the naval chief to receive injured through night capable heli.

More than 70 people including women and children were killed and over 250 sustained critical injuries in a suicide attack at the shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharife on Thursday.

All the required resources of the armed forces were placed for the rescue efforts after the blast.

Air effort being sent for quick evacuation of injured. Night flying cap heli of Navy and C-130 of Pakistan Air Force will do relief effort, the ISPR statement stated.

The PAF’s C-130 will lift injured from Nawab Shah Airport, while Pakistan Navy’s heli will lift injured from Sehwan and surroundings, he said.
