Over 100 terrorists killed during last 24 hrs across Pakistan: ISPR


RAWALPINDI: Over 100 terrorists were killed and sizeable apprehensions are made during IBOs and combing operations during last 24 hours across the country, said ISPR here Friday.

Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relations, Major General Asif Ghafoor shared the updates about operations on twitter.

According to Dg ISPR, the operations were launched on the directives of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa last night, in response to recent terrorist incidents across the country.

He said Intelligence Based Operations and Combing Operations are in progress across the country including Punjab, adding that intelligence agencies are making progress to unearth networks behind recent terrorist incidents.

The statement added that there are linkages of support for these incidents from across the border. The border has been closed since last night due to security reasons. No cross border/unauthorized entry will be allowed to Pakistan from Afghanistan.

He went on to say Afghan authorities have been given list of 76 terrorists who are hiding across since long and planning/directing/supporting terrorist activities in Pakistan. Afghan government has been asked to target them/hand over to Pakistan.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said terrorists’ hideouts on Pak-Afghan border have been effectively targeted.

He quoted Army Chief as saying, “Army is for security of people of Pakistan against all types of threats. Nation to stay steadfast with full confidence in their security forces. We shall not let the hostile agenda succeeed whatever it may cost.”
