Pakistan, China sign executive programme of cultural agreement

BEIJING: Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Chinese Minister of Culture Luo Shugang signed Executive Programme of Cultural Agreement on behalf of the two countries on Tuesday.

According to the agreement, Pakistan and China would mutually cooperate to develop and promote Film and Broadcasting, Arts and Culture, Information and Investigation, Press and Publications and Sports sectors of the two nations.

The two countries would also ensure mutual exchange of information according to which Radio Pakistan and Radio China International would broadcast news and information regarding the partner nation, while cultural delegations from China and Pakistan would also pay visits to the partner country.

Moreover, Pakistan’s Lok Virsa Museum also known as the National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage, will hold one-week exhibitions in China and acquaint the people of the country with history, culture, artifacts and various traditions from across Pakistan.

Pakistan and China would also cooperate in the sector of education, according to the agreement, and provide students from the partner country scholarships for financial support, while to develop Press and Publications, a six-person delegation from each country would visit the other.

The agreement signed by the two dignitaries also mentions that Pakistan and China, both, would trade a 100-athlete delegation for promotion of sports and athletics in both the beneficiary countries.
