ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has held the petroleum minister responsible for the present petrol crisis and said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government is being run on adhoc basis.

He said that how a government would deal with the menace of terrorism that could not resolve the petrol crisis. Addressing a press conference at his Bani Gali residence where two Pakistan Muslim League-Q leaders Riaz Fatiana and Saeed Virk announced their decision to join the PTI, Imran said that it speaks volume of the inefficiency of the Petroleum minister that he was not aware of nonpayment of Rs 200 billion dues to the PSO.

He said that the minister was responsible for the petrol crisis which has made people run here and there to get fuel. He said that the crisis emerged due to default by the PSO which was not being paid its dues. He also criticised the minister for not appointing permanent head of PSO and argued that corruption was done through adhoc heads.

To a question, Imran said that the “Sit-in “phase of the protest has passed and he would announce the next course of action at Workers Convention tomorrow (Sunday). He said that they ended the sit in because they did not want to become a hurdle in war against terrorism. He said that the PTI would think about returning to the parliament after the verdict of the judicial commission about electoral rigging.

On this occasion, Asad Umer said that the default by the PSO has brought a bad name to Pakistan. He rejected the assertion of the Petroleum minister that the consumption has increased due to cheap oil.

He said with more demand, the income increases and said it is not inefficiency but a clash over commission. He said that the confrontation between institutions is harming people. Imran said that the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was not coming to light because they do not spend billions on advertisement. He said that the Khyber Pakhtukhwa government has brought reforms in education, health and Patwar system.
