Pakistan rejects Indian propaganda of ‘alleged US warning’

WASHINGTON: Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani rejected on Tuesday an Indian report that the US has threatened Pakistan, terming it fabricated and exaggerated.

An Indian news agency had reported that the US sent a stern warning to Pakistan to make sure there were no incidents of cross border terrorism during US President Barack Obama’s visit to India.

Ambassador Jilani in an interview stated that the actual reality is that during US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to Pakistan, Kerry welcomed and lauded Pakistan’s progress on the war on terrorism.

He went on to say that Pakistan had already started an operation in North Waziristan and similar actions are being initiated in other parts of the country to rid the country of any traces of terrorism.

Jilani further said that it is Pakistan’s policy to not allow anyone to use its territory against other countries.
