Zardari condoles death of King Abdullah

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Friday condoled the death of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and paid glowing tributes to the late Saudi monarch.

In a condolence message, he said that late King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz was a towering leader during whose reign the cordial and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reached new heights. Late king will also be remembered for his vision for peace in the Middle East and search for a lasting solution to the problems facing countries of the Muslim World based on equity, justice and consensus, he said. The former president also prayed for eternal rest and peace to the soul of late King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.

“While expressing deep grief, I wish to convey the sympathies and condolences on behalf of the PPP to the people and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as to the House of Saud,” he said. Zardari also felicitated Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz on his accession to the office of Khadimain Haramain Sharifain and to Prince Muqrin Bin Abdul Aziz on his elevation as Crown Prince in a peaceful and orderly transition of power and responsibility. He expressed the hope that the brotherly ties between the two countries will grow from strength to strength in the years ahead.
