KHYBEER AGENCY: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq has called for the establishment of judicial and accountability system in tribal areas, alleging that funds allocated for the areas are usurped by the rulers.

Talking to media and addressing a large number of people here after condoling the death of father of local JI leader Abdul Rauf Shinwari on Sunday, Sirajul Haq demanded an end to FCR system and bringing the tribal areas into national mainstream. He said the rulers in Islamabad misappropriated billions of rupees in the name of development of FATA. He said a proof of this was that the area does not have a single medical or engineering university and the tribal people are denied of basic amenities of education and health.

The JI amir said problems of the country including FATA would be resolved only after the establishment of Islamic Sharia. He said it was wrong to link terrorism with religion as all of them are opposed to terrorism. He said a criminal is a criminal whether he is from a university or a madrassa. He said the present state of uncertainty was due to non-availability of rights and justice to the oppressed people.

Siraj asked the government to investigate where from the money was being poured into FATA and where it was being spent. He demanded an end to war imposed on FATA by the foreigners. He said the religious parties were in contact with each other for the restoration of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA). He demanded immediate rehabilitation of internally displaced people as well as provision of electricity, water and communication facilities.

Siraj regretted that the elected representatives of FATA were far away from their people, least interested in the resolution of their problems and only interested in transfer and posting of people in their areas. He assured that JI would continue to work for the resolution of problems being faced by the tribal people.
