‘Pakistan needs interior minister of Babar’s stature’

KARACHI: Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that Pakistan needs an Interior Affairs Minister of Naseerullah Babar's stature having both the brain and bravery to deal terrorists with an iron hand. Naseerullah Babar, a retired major general of the Pakistan Army, was a PPP leader who served as interior affairs minister under Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto during 1993-96 and is remembered as a strongest minister in the country. Babar's sixth death anniversary was observed yesterday. Paying homage to the late Naseerullah Babar, the PPP chairman said that services of the late PPP leader were remarkable and he remains the only interior minister who drove alone on the streets of Karachi while commanding a clean-up operation.
