Zehri seeks help from Nawaz to resolve political crisis in Balochistan

LAHORE: Balochistan Cheif Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has urged Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif to increase efforts to resolve the issue of a no-confidence motion against him.

Reportedly Zehri has conveyed to Nawaz that the no-confidence motion can have a serious impact on upcoming general elections.

Political uncertainty has engulfed the politics of Balochistan after lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against the chief minister of Balochistan in the provincial assembly.

The motion was signed by a total of 14 parliamentarians.

Several key cabinet members have resigned from their posts following the move. Chief minister’s adviser Prince Ahmad Ali Ahmadzai, Fisheries Minister Mir Sarfraz Domki and Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti submitted their resignations.

PPP leader holds Nawaz responsible for crises
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Maula Bakhsh Chandio has blamed the PML-N chief for the current political crisis in Balochistan saying Nawaz forcefully tried to enter the politics of the province.

A crisis situation has emerged ever since Nawaz started meddling in the political affairs of the province, said Chandio while addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

“New political alliances would be formed in coming days”, he added.

On the other side, the ruling PML-N has become active to resolve the issue as soon as possible amid Senate elections, going to be held in March.
