US aid insignificant to Pakistan, says PM Abbasi

LAHORE: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has on Sunday said that the US aid to Pakistan is not very crucial for Pakistan’s war against terrorism.

Talking to a British media outlet, Abbasi said that Pakistan has got less than $10 million as financial aid from America to fight for peace in the past five years, which is insignificant, he added.

Pakistan has waged a war against terrorism on its own, using its own resources, said the PM. The war on terrorism has cost the Pakistani economy $120 billion, the premier added, stressing that the global forces have been unable to control terrorists in Afghanistan.

In contemporary situation, Pakistan is facing terrorism from Afghan terrorists coming from across the border, he added.
