Bilawal criticises Nawaz over Balochistan’s political crisis

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party leader (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has criticised the federal government over current political turmoil brewing in Balochistan saying: ” Does the federal government even care about what’s happening in Balochistan?”

Bilawal took to twitter on Sunday to comment on the situation prevailed after the lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Nawaz Sanaullah Zehri in the Balochistan assembly.

“Has a single federal minister even gone there?” Bilawal tweeted.

He further said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif did not want government to complete its tenure.


Political uncertainty has engulfed the politics of Balochistan after lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against the chief minister of Balochistan in the provincial assembly.

The motion was signed by a total of 14 parliamentarians.

Several key cabinet members have resigned from their posts following the move. Chief minister’s adviser Prince Ahmad Ali Ahmadzai, Fisheries Minister Mir Sarfraz Domki and Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti submitted their resignations.

Earlier, Zehri contacted Nawaz and asked him to increase efforts to resolve the matter.

Zehri also conveyed to Nawaz that the no-confidence motion can have a serious impact on upcoming general elections.
