ISPR says that impostors claiming to be from army calling people and asking bank account details

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department has on Sunday warned the public that no representative from the institution was calling anyone for asking bank details.

In the clarification, the military wing warned that impostors were calling people in the guise of army representatives and seeking their bank account details in the name of census verification. ISPR warned the public about such impostors and categorically denied any links of the army with such calls.

“People are requested not to attend such calls and if someone tries to contact, report them on helpline 1125 or 1135”, ISPR said.

It was reported by Daily Times on Sunday that some people were receiving intimidating calls from unidentifiable numbers and their bank account details were being demanded. The impostors went as far as calling from various numbers and even used the bank’s official helpline.
