No set time frame for arrest of culprits in Kasur case

LAHORE: Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that the security officials are effectively investigating rape and murder case of a minor in Kasur, but no certain time frame can be guaranteed for arrest of the culprits.

Talking to media in Kasur, Shehbaz said that all necessary measures for investigation are ensured, while also stating that the provincial government, intelligence agencies and armed forces are jointly probing the matter.

CM Punjab also urged Kasur residents to come forth with any information regarding the suspect, ensuring that identities of the aides would be kept anonymous.

In response to a question regarding Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)’s joint protest with Pakistan Tehreel-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and others against Punjab government, Shehbaz said that cases similar to the one in Kasur are inappropriate for political point-scoring.

Earlier on Tuesday, a man resembling the prime suspect in rape and murder case of a minor in Kasur was arrested from Defence Bhatta Chowk in Lahore.
