Centre responsible for massive load shedding, over-billing: KP

PESHAWAR: Ministry of Water and Power to rectify its power system, as the federal government is responsible for massive load shedding, over billing and outdated power distribution system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak asked federal Minister for State Abid Sher Ali to make ‘thieves and looters of his own Ministry accountable instead of abusing Pakhtuns.” Khattak urged him to concentrate on his Ministry, saying failure of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in bringing improvement in system would force the people of KP on staging long march against it. Talking to media in Nowshera after returning from Islamabad, he warned he himself would lead long march if the problem persisted. He said instead of pacifying, Abid SherAli is deteriorating the situation further. He said Federal Intelligence Agency has launched inquiries against all stores of WAPDA, which had withheld the provision of transformers and people were bearing the load shedding even in Ramazan. He said the provincial government was carrying the agenda of change in the province forward, which had ushered a uniformed pace of development. Khattak said the provincial government had handed over clear strategy to PESCO the people were complaining with it.
