Boat of Qadri’s revolution will soon ‘sink’: minister
* Pervaiz Rashid says Shujaat should have resigned after Lal Masjid tragedy

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed said on Thursday that Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri’s “revolution” is sailing in the boat of the Chaudries of the PML-Q and is fated to sink.
Reacting to the press conference of Qadri, the minister remarked that if Sheikh Rasheed is steering this boat then it is bound to sink. He said that the Canadian national cleric is anti-democracy and has nothing to do with democracy. Pervez alleged there is a strategic alliance between PTI chief Imran Khan, Qadri and terrorists. Imran Khan, he claimed, plans to invade the capital city. He remarked that Qadri hijacked a foreign airline’s plane in Lahore while the terrorists attacked the Karachi airport, and the objective behind these acts was to isolate Pakistan by having international airlines’ flights to Pakistan cancelled. About Lahore’s Model Town incident, he said that the victims of the clash would be provided justice.
The information minister said the Punjab government has set an example by seeking resignation of its law minister over the incident. He said that PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain should also have tendered his resignation after the Lal Masjid tragedy but he did not, and nobody asked for it. On the issue of North Waziristan Agency operation, Pervez said that several factors had to be considered before the launch of the operation, including displacement of the people, dynamics of the region and political consensus. The minister said that elimination of terrorism was in the interest of the entire region.
