Army will chase, hunt down terrorists across Pakistan: Gen Raheel
*Army chief meets frontline troops in Waziristan *Army to rid Pakistan of scourge of terrorism

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Monday visited troops engaged in Zarb-e-Azb military operation on the front lines in North Waziristan tribal agency where he was given detailed briefing by the general officer commanding on fight against terrorism.

Talking to troops in Miranshah, Gen Raheel lauded the troops for their courage, dedication and high state of morale and expressed his satisfaction over the progress achieved so far since start of the military operation. He commended the entire chain of command for their determined efforts in planning, preparation, mobilisation and execution of the Zarb-e-Azb.

The army chief once again emphasised on the officers and men to eliminate all local and foreign terrorists and their sanctuaries. Alluding to the end objective, he affirmed that terrorists will be chased and hunted down across Pakistan till their final elimination. He said that the army would accomplish the mission and rid Pakistan of the scourge of terrorism.

He specially paid rich tributes to martyrs and wounded in the operation. Paying tribute to displaced families for their sacrifices to restore writ of the state, the army chief acknowledged the national spirit and support forthcoming for them from across Pakistan. He re-affirmed that the army would not abandon tribal brethren in their hour of need.

He said all possible assistance would be rendered to the government and various organizations in bringing them maximum relief. He also assured of army’s role in rebuilding and restoring normalcy in the tribal region. Earlier on his arrival at Miranshah, the army chief was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani.
