PR starts deploying commandos for safety of passengers
KARACHI: To ensure the safety of passengers, Pakistan Railways has started deploying Commandos, Geo News reported.
The government has allowed Pakistan Railways to recruit retired SSG commandos. It has also released Rs1 billion for the purchase of modern weapons and other essential instruments.
In the first stage, 54 energetic youth have been assigned duties after commando training imparted by the Army.
To thwart any terror bid, CCTV cameras and walk-through gates have been installed. Screening of passengers through metal detectors has also been started.
