Open letter: KPK CM urges PM to address provincial grievances

PESHAWAR: In an open letter to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak on Tuesday placed eleven demands seeking immediate redress of the provincial grievances, Geo News reported.

WAPDA providing 1300 MW of electricity instead of 2000 MW promised.

Hand over Peshawar Electric Company (PESCO) to the provincial government.

Rs134.49 billion on account of NHP and about Rs6 billion on account of net profit outstanding be paid to the province by federation.

KPK be allowed to use 100 MMCFD gas for the generation of 500 MW of electricity.

Timely disbursement of the KPK share from the federation’s divisional pool of revenue demanded.

KPK be declared due to its many problems a calamity-hit province and dealt with accordingly.

Frontier Constabulary deployed in other provinces should be returned to KPK.

Federal government asked to assist KPK as it struggles to help the internally displaced persons (IDP) arrived in the province from North Waziristan in the aftermath of a military operation.

KPK government initiatives to reform the weak system in the country were not appreciated by the federal government.

Federal government creates hindrances whenever KPK government takes steps to provide rights to the people.
