Pakistan condemns US drone strike
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan condemns incident of US drone strike that took place near Miranshah in North Waziristan during the early hours of Saturday, which led to many causalities.
In a statement issued here, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said that Pakistan regards such strikes as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. As has been made clear on earlier occasions also, these strikes have a negative impact on the government’s efforts to bring peace and stability in Pakistan and the region, she said.
Early on Saturday, a US drone strike targeting a Taliban compound killed 11 ‘insurgents’ in the country's tribal region, officials said. The strike took place in the Mada Khel suburb of Data Khel, a town that lies around 22 miles west of Miranshah.
