Shiv Sena opposes talks with Pakistan
MP says kill 10 Pakistanis if they kill one Indian soldierNEW DELHI – Shiv Sena lawmaker Sanjay Raut has opposed any kind of talks with Pakistan, saying the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have no talks with the neighbouring country despite a landmark visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to India.
Talking to reporter, he asked the government to give Pakistan a ‘befitting reply’ after the killing of an Indian Army soldier at the Line of Control in the divided state of Jammu Kashmir. “What is this ‘sari and shawl’ diplomacy? There should be no talks with Pakistan and this has been our stand yesterday and even today when we are in the government,” he said.
“Should we continue to keep counting our dead soldiers? If they have killed our one soldier, we should kill (their) 10 (soldiers) and this would be a befitting reply to Pakistan,” the Shiv Sena lawmaker said. Shiv Sena has steadfastly opposed any talks between Pakistan and India.
Raut said that it was the Sena who raised this issue in the parliament today and now the Sena was in the government so this party would also take it up with the government. However, he did not elaborate.
