Imran Khan taking solo flight on long march, says information minister
Pervaiz says 35 lawmakers out of total 342 to participate in August 14 event

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Tuesday that Imran Khan was taking a solo flight on the issue of the ‘long march’ on August 14 as only 35 members of the National Assembly out of total 342 would participate in it.

Talking to journalists in his chamber at the Parliament House, the minister said that the long march would be a one-day event and forgotten the very next day. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N had been saying since day one that Imran Khan should not indulge in negative politics at this critical juncture.

"At this time, the focus of the attention of entire nation and the government were the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan tribal agency and Imran Khan should also join hands in the noble cause as the issue is mostly related to the province ruled by his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,” he said.

To a question, he said in the past there was no efficient transport system in Pakistan and the PML-N introduced a modern transport system in Lahore and soon the residents of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad would also enjoy the same facility. About Sheikh Rashid's claim that hoisting national flag in the evening would be against the protocol, he said the former information minister did not know much about the protocols of the flag hoisting.
