No city will be handed over to army: Nisar
PPI

ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that no city will be handed over to the army.

Addressing a news conference he said that army has been requisitioned in aid to the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. He clarified that the army was not being called to stop a political march in the capital.

Criticizing those opposing the decision, Nisar said the country was in a state of war and every issue should not be politicized. The interior minister also shared that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) has not sought permission to hold a rally in Islamabad, as yet.

He said that decision to call the army was taken at least five days before the start of the operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.
