Nation celebrates Eid-ul- Fitr with religious zeal, fervor

KARACHI: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated throughout the country with great religious fervour, enthusiasm and zeal today, Geo News reported.

Eid congregations were held at open places‚ mosques and Eidgahs in all major cities and towns of the country.

The Ulema in their sermons highlighted significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.

On this occasion special prayers were offered for well-being of the IDPs and early liberation of Kashmir and Palestine. Prayers were also offered for security, progress and prosperity of the country.

Eid congregations were held at hundreds of places throughout the country.

In the Federal Capital, the main Eid congregation was held at the Faisal Mosque where a large number of people including Parliamentarians‚ Envoys of Muslim countries and high officials offered Eid prayers.

President Mamnoon Hussain offered Eid prayer at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari and Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch also offered Eid prayer with the president.

After Eid prayer, the President mingled up with the staff of Aiwan-e-Sadr and exchanged Eid greetings.

In Lahore, main congregation was held at Badshahi Mosque where Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar offered Eid prayers, while Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers at Model Town in Lahore.

In Rawalpindi, the biggest Eid congregation was held at Liaqat Bagh, where hundreds of people offered Eid prayers.

Similarly, in Karachi a major congregation was held in Bagh-e-Jinnah (Polo Ground) besides hundreds of congregations in mosques and Eidgahs, where faithful s offered Eid prayers.

In Quetta Eid congregation was held on Toghi Road, where former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry also offered prayer.
