SCO grants full membership to Pakistan
UFA: The Shanghai Cooperation Organisaiton granted full membership status to Pakistan and India during its summit held here on Friday.
Prior to becoming a full member Pakistan will need to fulfill legal and statutory requirements.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said SCO countries must work together eliminate their differences and resolve outstanding issues.
The prime minister was addressing the SCO summit and said there was a need for economic integration and regional stability for peace.
According Prime Minister Sharif, Pakistan’s foreign policy priority would be to build on economic relations with SCO members.
He further said SCO provided a forum to Pakistan for promoting peace in the South and Central Asian regions.
