RAWALPINDI – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervez Rashid on Friday said that Pakistan's stance on India attracted world acclaim which in turn made her kneel down to sit on dialogue table with Pakistan.

“The sagacious acumen of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif towards India was widely applauded by the world powers including China, USA and UK that coerced India to once again sit on dialogue table with us,” he said while talking to media-persons at Rawalpindi chapter of National Press Club at Sehar reception, hosted by the minister in honour of the media persons.

“Initially Modi showed bitter mood towards us and discontinued the bilateral dialogue process for seeking peaceful resolution of issues, soon after he took over the premiership of India but now New Delhi has requested Pakistan to reinitiate the disrupted process” Once again agreeing to begin talks by her is clearly in recognition to Pakistan's leadership's principled stand, he said. “Both the leaders of Pakistan and India are sitting to once again kick start the disrupted talk process. We will take the talks to their logical end,” Pervez said.

He said that the fact cannot be denied that Pakistan will have to continue to be existed on the world map where it is today and the similar situation is with India therefore each of the party will have to admit the reality of coexistence. “No one can change the Geographical position of both the countries and they will have to remain in the each other's neighbourhood for good.”

When asked to comment on the government's policy on issue of Kashmir, the information minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government firmly believes in seeking resolution of all the issues through dialogue. Referring to the two years tenure of PML-N government in office, he said that the economic policies are being widely commended by the economic powers of the world and giving it membership of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is unblemished testimony to this position.

He said that the success of PML-N government's policies speaks volume and almost all the small and big nations around the globe want Pakistan to be their ally. He said due to economic revival policies of the country a number of mega development programs have been initiated across the country and award of one of the mega projects like Metro bus service to Rawalpindi is an omen of the flourishing economy of the country.

Due to the bus service the travel time between the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad is considerably reduced from 90 minutes to 25 minutes. He said that the 'bad wishers' do not leave any chance to go to malign the PML-N government which despite all odds have been striving to make progress in almost every sector and subsequently transferring all the fruits of progress to the grass roots levels.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid said that those elements had been making every abortive attempt to derail the economic policies of the government whether through staging sit-ins or holding protest rallies. Despite all this, he said the country is continuing to make progress under the table leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan had attempted to misguide the people by questioning the fairness of general elections and his all such attempt proved to be futile as they did not carry anything substantial. “Imran leveled baseless allegations of 35 pentures and with passage of time his lies were consequently exposed to the public,” he said.

He said Imran had also leveled baseless allegations against the former chief Justice of Supreme Court and again he had to lick his wounds on one side while on the other he had been facing defamation charge at the hands of Najam Sethi. Therefore, he said Imran had been avoiding facing the court of laws. Senator Pervez said that Imran had been facing mere defeats on every front because he is politicking on the basis of lies and baseless propagation.

He said that PML-N has been achieving successes as its core of politics is built on telling the truth. He said those had been pointing fingers on others, today their integrity is being questioned by 'sound system and tent walas'. Imran while misguiding the people had claimed to have collected contributions of billions of rupees and today people want to know that where those billons of rupees have gone? He pointed out that Imran not only collected donations from the people inland but also accepted contributions from expatriates from the US and the UK but despite all that he miserably failed to dislodge the democratically elected government of PML-N.

He said that the PML-N would go to people in 2018 elections on the basis of its good performance as it would be giving them better Pakistan than it was taken back in 2013. He expressed the determination that in the next three years the government would continue to serve the countrymen as it had been doing in the past two years. “We will take the country to the height envisioned by the father of the nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”

When sought his comments on the holding of Local Bodies elections in the federal capital, he said that the Senate had already adopted the bill whereby approving the holding of elections on party basis. Subsequently, he said the bill would be tabled in the National Assembly for its final adoption. He said after the passage of the bill form the National Assembly the electoral process would be announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

On the economic revival of Pakistan Steel mills, he said the government had made a number of attempts to make this gigantic project economically viable besides injecting bailout package worth billions of rupees. The management of the mills comprising government officials miserably failed to make itself reliant, therefore such managers are being considered to be engaged, who not only share profit and loss but also make the mill an economic viable project.
