MQM chief says Mohajirs are not being accepted as ‘sons of the soil’

LONDON – Muttahida Quami Movement chief Altaf Hussain has regretted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has not uttered a single word over the main issue of Jammu Kashmir during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi while the latter time and again raised Mumbai case.

While addressing the Iftar-cum-dinner gathering hosted by Mohibban-e-Pakistan in Saudi Arabia and other gulf states, Altaf deplored that Nawaz has not even a little bit of courage to raise his voice against the atrocities of Indian Army in the Jammu Kashmir. He asked that whether the Pakistan government has ceased the issue of Jammu Kashmir.

The MQM chief said that despite the fact that 68 years of our independence have passed but till to-date the ‘Mohajirs’ are not being considered as ‘sons of the soil’, and are always being subjected to suspicion in every walk of life. He regretted that even a person like Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan is not being considered as ‘son of the soil’ just because he too is a ‘Mohajir’.

He said that those who have looted Pakistan with both hands and were involved in the gory episode of 1971, are labeling the sons and daughter of those who created Pakistan as the enemy of the state and their loyalty is being questioned. He further regretted that instead of accepting the mandate of MQM efforts are underway to eliminate Mohajirs and MQM.

“We have decided that we will give all sacrifices but would never bow down and accept the life of slavery,” he said. He urged the Pakistani community living in Saudi Arabia, and Gulf States to abide by the laws of their countries in which they are living and lauded those who are sending huge amount of foreign exchange with a view to making the economy of Pakistan stronger.
