LHC accepts bail plea of Ayyan Ali
RAWALPINDI: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi branch has accepted bail plea of supermodel and actress Ayyan Ali after five months.
Ayyan Ali was taken into custody after being found in possession of $500,000 by custom authorities at the Benazir International Airport. Case was lodged against the accused under Custom Act.
On Monday, the Banking Court, Rawalpindi extended judicial remand of the supermodel Ali in the money laundering-cum-smuggling case till July 27, 2015. This was the 15th time the model was sent on judicial remand since her arrest from Benazir Bhutto International Airport with $500,000 on May 14, 2015.
The supermodel was brought to Rawalpindi District Courts in tight security arrangements on Monday.
Earlier last week, the Customs officials presented the charge sheet against Ayyan Ali in the case. Officials have reportedly charged the model with currency smuggling.
