President approves remission in jail terms on Eid al Fitr
INPISLAMABAD - President Mamnoon Hussain has approved Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s advice for grant of special remission on the occasion of Eid al Fitr to the convicts undergoing different terms of imprisonments.
Remission of 90 days would be granted to prisoners convicted for life imprisonment; 45 days to all convicts; total remission to male prisoners of 65 years of age or above and female prisoners of 60 years and above.
The remission would be available for those not involved in terrorist, anti-state or heinous crimes. Special remission of one year had been granted to female prisoners, who were accompanying children and total remission to juvenile convicts who had served one third of their substantive sentences.
