British journo feels ‘mystery’ over Reham’s credentials, stir debate in Pakistan
North Lindsay College spokesman says Lincolnshire-based college never offered a postgraduate course in Broadcast Journalism

LONDON – The North Lindsay College in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire has never offered a postgraduate course in Broadcast Journalism, the Daily Mail newspaper quoted officials of the college as saying.

“Indeed, it (the college) does not teach journalism at all. Furthermore, they can find no record of anyone bearing (Reham) Khan’s name or age ever having enrolled,” the British paper reported. Reham is a British-Pakistani journalist who currently hosts talk show The Reham Khan Show on Dawn News channel.

British journalist SebastianShakespeare reported that when he disclosed in January that cricket legend Imran Khan had secretly married Reham Khan, his ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith seemed less than thrilled and publicly thanked Pakistanis who contacted her to say she remained their favourite First Lady.

“Now questions are starting to be asked about the CV of TV journalist Reham, 42, who left Britain for Pakistan two years ago,” the journalist reported. Reham’s personal website states that she won her post as a reporter on the BBC regional show South Today after starting a postgraduate course in the Broadcast Journalism at the North Lindsay College from Lincolnshire.

“We do not have anyone by those names or date of birth having attended this college,”the paper quoted college’s spokesman as saying. “We have never done a degree in broadcast journalism,” he said. The paper reported that Reham could not be reached for comment.

In her latest interview to a Karachi-based Aurora magazine, Reham said that she started postgrad in sociologyafter her graduating, but she could not continue her studies as she had to start working immediately after her divorce. “I worked at the BBC for almost five years, moving up from the weather to becoming a senior broadcast journalist,” she said.
