Kashmiri leaders under house arrest, not allowed to offer Eid prayers

SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani said Sunday that Indian forces have made life miserable for the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

He said that the struggle against the occupation forces for the right of self-determination would continue in Kashmir.

Gilani said that state terrorism by India was at its peak in the disputed valley and that several leaders were kept under house arrest even on Eid.

Gilani is among several senior Kashmiri leaders who have been under house arrest since April.

The senior leader told Geo News that he was not allowed to offer Friday prayers during Ramadan or even Eid prayers.

Protests were carried out in the disputed valley on Eid against the house arrest of the leaders. The Pakistani flag was also waved during the demonstrations.
