PM wants allegations, accusations should be stopped forever after inquiry report
Nawaz says inquiry commission confirms transparency of election 2013

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took nation into confidence over the recently published report by the Judicial Commission – constituted to probe the rigging charges in the 2013 general election.

In his widely-televised address on Thursday evening, the prime minister said that it has been proved that there was no rigging on any level and that the 2013 general elections were free and fair.

He said that the political parties did not provide any evidence of the alleged rigging in the elections. “Looking at the findings of the judicial commission, it cannot be said that the results were against popular mandate.”

“Inquiry commission's comprehensive report does not only reaffirm our stance but also the mandate of Pakistani people,” Nawaz said. “Now that the respected inquiry commission has confirmed the transparency of the 2013 polls, the door of allegations and accusations should be closed forever."

The prime minister said that embarrassing Pakistan in the whole world by making the fair and transparent elections controversial was one regrettable chapter of “our history that will not be forgotten easily.” The three-member Judicial Commission concluded that the 2013 general elections were in large part organized and conducted fairly and in accordance with the law.

The report of over 274 pages was sent to the Ministry of Law late Wednesday by the judicial commission said the plan or design to manipulate or influence the election has not been disclosed with any degree of specification by any of the parties to the proceedings nor is it discernible from the material placed before the commission.
