DHUDIAL: Adviser to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani has said that the roar of lion in the elections of Azad Jammu Kashmir on July 21 would make the election symbols of arrow, bat and horse worthless.

Addressing a meeting of party leaders and workers at Iftar here, he said the outgoing PPP government in the state denied people their rights and did not work for the progress and prosperity of the area and the broken roads were a symptom of its apathy. He said the good news was that leader of Pakistan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was very soon returning to Pakistan as he had regained his health.

The prime minister would also come to Azad Jammu Kashmir, he said. He also said that seasonal birds were hovering around at this time of the elections, adding the election symbol of bat of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was worthless as party was enemy of the progress and prosperity of the state.

He said that Imran Khan popularly known as ‘Container Khan’ sold the honour and dignity of the nation to Kerry Packer and opposed the government elected with votes of the people. He said that Nawaz Sharif was symbol of service to the people and strength for the federation, adding the prime minister understood the problems of Kashmiri people.

He said that their struggle was to ensure that there should be free movement of people across the Line of Control (LoC) and separated brothers continue meeting each other. He urged people to strengthen hands of Nawaz Sharif. Every candidate in the state election was Nawaz Sharif and the next government of the Pakistan Muslim League-N would bring progress and prosperity in the Kashmiri state, he added.

The government of PML-N would create job opportunities and build infrastructure to promote tourism, he said adding more hospitals and schools would be constructed. He stressed that government employees should not get involved in the election campaign of the outgoing government.
