Very few have served people like Edhi: PM Nawaz

LONDON: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hailed the service of Abdul Sattar Edhi and urged the nation to pray for him, after it was revealed that the philanthropist was in critical condition.

In a series of statements, the Prime Minister lauded Edhi's service to humanity and claimed that very few had served mankind like the Karachi-based philanthropist had.

"Edhi is the perfect example when it comes to serving humanity," said the PM Nawaz. "May God be with him in this critical juncture of his life."

The Prime Minister recognized Mr Edhi's services by stating that his tireless efforts had saved thousands of lives. he said that Edhi deserved the same care that he had so selflessly given to the nation and its people.

PM Nawaz further said that the entire nation was praying for the recovery of Abdul Sattar Edhi.

Faisal Edhi, son of Abdul Sattar Edhi, announced on Friday via a press conference that his father was in critical condition and had been shifted to a ventilator. He revealed that Edhi's kidneys had failed and that he had been encountering breathing problems.

Faisal Edhi had urged the nation to pray for Abdul Sattar Edhi's health.
